I bought a game too Raw. COD ModernWarfare2!
EB Games had a 24 hr sale, only online for $73. I printed out the page, JB Hi-fi wouldn’t match it, DickSmith didn’t have any in stock ($88) – apparently they will on Wednesday and indicated they’d pricematch it still … then after work I hit HardleyNormal, shelf price $99, asked a young newby girly and scored it for $72!
One word … AWESOME 🙂 Single player is easier than World at War, with not many areas slowing me down. There is one rather disturbing mission in an airport where you take part in mowing down civilians. Lots of civilians – see screenshot below. Visually stunning, first game to tax the 260OC!  Could be a problem sharing this game for trial though. Steam registration is requred for activation and it locks it – presumably the serial, to your Steam account, which you have to log into every time you launch the game. Perhaps there’s a work around? Happy hunting.
Looking forward to your newly acquired game too Raw, might hunt down a copy for myself .. perhaps.

DEBRIEFING – 091204: Wow, what a night of almost gameless mishaps and fun. Our first choice of RTS, Age of Empires 2, failed dismally, taking hours to load then refusing to let 3 people join the same game. Just as Nads gave up and left, Woodie arrived as Raw and I finished loading up the original Empire Earth. The game drew out till 1am, when Woodie finally finished off Raw and myself in unprovoked style. Though the stats said I almost doubled Woodies clicks and out populated his army, it’s clear I had no idea on strategy and my dimise came swift at the hands of Wood the executioner.

Next time: 18/12 … too close to Christmas? Who want’s to play?

  2. Hi Mr RawT, I secured my ‘genuine’ copy of AOE III today. Wandered up to HN after taking a pic at EB, but got it for the same price, so it’s a cert for a Friday foray … for you and me at least 🙂 Min specs are XP, 1.4GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 64MB graphics – so will run on the plethora of 1.7 PC’s inhabiting the EDGE.Finished COD MW2, took about 8-9 hrs to get thru single player, loved every minute of it, except mayby the airport massacre, but hey, it’s only pretend .. though it seems so real. I won’t give anything else away, you’ll have to play it. Cheers.
