MINI MISSION 060525

Agents Fred & Canon joined Tone for a quiet night of racing in V8SC3.

Scores were not kept, but after an early start, Fred eagerly wrapped his grizzled paws around the Perpetual Cup Trophy after some occasionally close but relatively incident free hot laps. Canon joined in for some BIG Corvette action, battling it out in some 12 lap races. After Canon’s departure, Fred & Tone soldiered on, tackling the open wheeled F1’s with no setups, in a very fast-paced CLOSE quarter competition. Tracks included Bathurst (lots of overtaking!), Sandown & Surfers!
An early evening wrapped up around 0030 hrs.

A first look at this game for a few agents interested in a Real Time Strategy Game.

060512 MISSION DEBRIEFING

Present: Woodie, Canon, Parts, Fred, Tone.
V8 Supercars 3 was played all night!!

We squeezed in a record ammount of racing, with some very close & contentious outcomes and some heated debates during breaks. Seems everyone has a different opinion on how games should be hosted, in regard to collision, damage, race length, pitstops, cars & tracks.
To be fair, I try to let anyone who wants to host races host them, which gives everyone a chance to have a few races how they like them set-up. This ads variety to the evening, and hopefully keeps most players happy.

Personally, I like longer races – You don’t see many (any) real-life races only lasting 3 laps! – 10-15 laps gives everyone a chance to settle in to the car/track combo. Tyre wear comes into play, upping the strategy aproach, as well as driver skill. With a mandatory pitstop, full damage & collision on & REVSERSE GRID starts, the pitstop becomes a tactic which can even things out, giving you a chance to fix any accumulated damage – or not. Over larger distances, everyone is likely to come unstuck at some stage. I prefer car setups on for improved handling, but understand closer racing can be had with them off, so generally mind neither way.

060505 MISSION DEBRIEFING

A good turnout of troops ensured a tough but fun night of gaming, with Fred, Canon, RawT, Darklord, Woodie & Tone battling it out to be top dog .. after Buddy of course.

A huge night on the V8 Supercars3 virtual racetracks, with Canon hosting a variety of vehicles, in what is believed to be an attempt to unsettle anyone who’s been practicing the V8’s to claim the trophy, which was the last series held. Due to some shunting and bumping resulting in some noisy afte-race discussion, it was decided to turn collision off. Although this didn’t solve the problem, when racers were blinded on occasion by "drive-thru", causing the odd crash.

Tone scraped in to re-claim the coveted trophy from Fred after some very close competition.

A few deathmatch rounds in Soldier of Fortune II, Housewarming ’round the pool,  followed to end off the evening in absolute carnage. I think there may have been a conspiracy to ensure Tone didn’t win on THIS virtial battleground! Great gaming night – thanks fellas. Mission ends 0200hrs.
